cultural acquis most important around the world.
The Soumaya Museum is a place that was created mainly to close more people to Mexican and International art,
that´s why the museum shows unique works go back to XV to XX century. There are works over 2300 thousand years, for that reason the museum preserves and researches about the works exhibited.
The engineer that created this beautiful work of modern architecture is the Mr. Carlos Slim Hedú,
who dedicated this allegory to his wife Soumaya Domit.
The Soumaya Museum has been exhibitor of many alternatives to close universal people to the art,
in this way it has shown outdoor works and shared collections with other museums of the city.
This place open its doors to 3500 visitors per day in Plaza Carso headquarters and 1300 per week in Plaza Loreto.
And attend also 3000 schools, nursing homes, and orphans.
Every single visit in the museum offers breakfast, guided tours and workshops for all people.
This visit through Soumaya Museum is surprising me however it´s time for a break.
so we´ll be right back!
As we said before the break, we are in Soumaya Museum and I tell you, its design and structure; everybody has thought about,
it was a challenge to built this one, nevertheless is an avant garde construction for the architecture of our city.
The building is asymmetric. It has 28 curved columns in its perimeter, as well as 7 horizontal rings that follow the line in exterior surface.
The purpose of those rings is to create a support system of the perimetral columns and the roof itself.
Soumaya Museum´s geometry arises from a central point radiating it in uniform angles.
Hall 1: Between worlds gold and silver.
Hall 2: Temporary Exposures.
Hall 3: Old European and Novohispanic masters.
Hall 4: From impressionism to avant garde.
Hall 5: From old Mexico to modern one.
Hall 6: Rodin´s era. In addition of these magnificent exhibition halls;
the museum has auditorium, coffee shop, store, Telmex digital room, as well as information hall and recreation activities.
One of its most important collections is The Rodin, sculptures of XIX and XX century;
which it shows each work with academic influence until his revolutionary works and genres as mythological.
the portrayal and body fragmentations.
There is a curiosity about this sculpture by my side, called it "Bronze age" was very controversial in that time due its perfection.
there was a rumor that the bronze casting has been over the human model.
On the other hand the collection Old European Masters gathers many school arts of the world from XV to XVIII to show in our country through art masters such as:
Cranach, Tintoretto, Murillo, el Greco, Rubens, Van Dyck, Hals, Brueghel, they are artists that worked from the first renaissance.
the mannerism, the baroque until transition to neoclassical.
The hall of impressionism and vanguards is full of renowned artist such as Monet, Pizarro, Degas and Renoir.
These artists made way too many others in impressionism tendency as Van Gogh y Toulouse-Lautrec.
That´s not all, within this hall there are artists that have leave their legacy in the surrealism tendency as Salvador Dali and Joan Miro.
On the other hand about old Novohispanic masters the collection shows "The miscegenation" the clash of two cultures.
nevertheless these pieces depict artistic testimony of Novohispanic viceroyalties.
This visit through several objects that shelters Soumaya Museum is really fascinating, isn´t it fellas?
However this collection preserves coins, medals, and many old objects.
This painting by my side calls "Allegory of the Consecration of the Kingdoms of the New Spain".
that depicts the Spanish supremacy over world kingdoms.
